
Northcentral University was founded in early 1996 as a 100% online university based in Prescott, Arizona. From the beginning the vision was to combine rigorous academics with the convenience of distance learning. This vision was affirmed when NCU received regional accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
NCU began by offering degree programs in business administration and psychology. Today NCU offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and technology management, education, and psychology. In addition, NCU offers Certificates of Advanced Graduate Studies for Learners holding master's degrees and seeking higher education without committing to a doctoral program.
The University has a history of innovation. NCU was the first 100% online university to be accredited to offer doctoral degrees with its initial accreditation. Today the University educates more Ph.D.'s in business and technology management than any other university in the United States. NCU was the first and only 100% online university to have its business school accredited by the Association of Collegiate Schools and Programs, which accredits schools focusing on teaching excellence.
In its brief history, Northcentral University is proud to have awarded 895 degrees, as of June 2008, and grown to a student body of more than 6,800 Learners worldwide. NCU Learners represent all 50 states and every U.S. territory, as well as 52 other countries. The University moved to its new state-of-the-art world headquarters in Prescott Valley, Arizona in spring 2007.

1. MGT5000 – Leadership in Organization
What exactly is management? What is expected of a manager? How does a manager function? How is a manager graded on performance? Do different organizational structures require different management styles? Questions like these are endless. This course examines the essential characteristics of business organizations and management in a manner, which will enable Learners to assess and develop answers to these questions.
2. IBU6003 – Global Marketing
Develop an understanding of the way in which international markets operate. Topics include examining frameworks and tools to evaluate marketing data, how to identify markets and adapting to foreign markets, exploring global marketing planning and forecasting.
3. IBU6006 – Strategic Management in International Business
The course focuses on strategic managers and their techniques in a global commerce environment. Topics include international trade, strategic alliances, and multinational corporations.
4. MGT6106 – Management Theory and Concepts
The course examines theories and the changes in management practices in early business models and key historical persons/era. It also compares changes in organizational structure, organizational behavior, and human resource management in the past, present, and future.
5. IBU6116 – Global Banking and Finance
A management perspective in relation to decision making within current international markets, foreign investments, financing, and exchange risks. Examines analytical tools needed to evaluate and provide solutions for problems that are commonly encountered in international finance
6. MGT5019 – Ethics in Business
Ethics and social responsibility are terms frequently applied to businesses often in the context of describing the lack of them. This course explores the responsibilities of a business, and to whom it is responsible. It includes the current laws and applications pertaining to the Americans with Disabilities Act, (ADA), The Family and Medical Leave Act and regulatory agencies for workplace responsibility i.e., FDA and OSHA. It also investigates how business ethics affect the employee, firm, consumer, and society.
7. FIN6014 – Stock Market & Financial Institutions
This course will address the nature of various financial markets/institutions and their importance to the global economy including commercial banks, investment banks, foreign exchange market, the capital market for both stocks and bonds, and the mortgage market. The areas of risk faced by financial institutions will be reviewed as will be the management of these risks through use of derivative securities.
